In the heart of Rome’s Parioli quarter, alongside the Tiber River, the Parco della Musica Auditorium is the largest mixed-use cultural centre in the capital. A unique architectural design and a calendar of events and initiatives throughout the whole of the year.
The Parco della Musica Auditorium, named after maestro Ennio Morricone in 2020, the year of his death, is a musical and artistic workshop which has been a reference point for Romans and visitors of all ages and backgrounds for over 20 years. Renzo Piano's almost metaphysical architecture, with the typical materials and colours of Roman buildings - travertine, bricks and lead roofing - blend in with the surrounding environment, the course of the Tiber river, not far away, and the characteristic pine trees. The three main concert halls are linked by a large roof garden containing the cavea (enclosure): conceived as a square open to the public, in the summer season, it can be transformed into a theatre to host musical events. In its multiple spaces, programming ranges from concerts and festivals to art exhibitions, conferences and shows that are always very popular.
